In PBL students go through an extended process of inquiry in response to a complex question, problem, or challenge. Rigorous projects help students learn key academic content and practice 21st Century Skills (such as collaboration, communication & critical thinking).
Music strengthens the communication between the two hemispheres of the brain and is the only subject that lights up all parts of the brain simultaneously meaning that students who participate in and practice music regularly see a heightened ability to synthesize and analyze information as well an increase in learning and retaining new information.
We focus on artists from classic to contemporary, while they create art in a variety of mediums: acrylic, watercolor, collage, sculpture, drawing and much more.
Delta Elementary Charter School is located in the small rural community of Clarksburg, California. When the River Delta Unified School District announced its plans to close Clarksburg Elementary School at the end of the 2005-2006 school year, a group of interested citizens initiated a course of action that led to the creation of Delta Elementary Charter School. After a year of careful deliberation, planning, and hard work, the school opened on August 22, 2007, with an enrollment of 95 students and five teachers.
